Lethal Comrade has officially launched, and seeing Rodeo Jones and Tachi Moreno out in the world has been so much fun! But…back to the cold (frigid?) reality that, even though it’s August and we’re dealing with heat advisories everywhere, as a romance author my mind has started to shift to my upcoming Christmas release in that small-town Alaska medical romance series you all love. One of my favorite parts of being an author is living in these completely different worlds. One month I'm writing about virally enhanced soldiers, covert operations, and life-or-death missions. The next? I'm trading tactical gear for snow boots, Christmas lights, sled dogs, and Yukon Valley Hospital. I'm deep into the finishing (holiday!) touches for Code Blue Christmas, and I am SO FREAKING excited for readers to meet Reggie Price and April Katz. Reggie likes precision, routines, and getting his sled dog team ready for race day. April brings enough holiday cheer for the entire town. Naturally, Yukon Valley's unofficial matchmaking committee decides they're the perfect Christmas project…Because of course they do. Add an injured sled dog, a community festival, a Christmas snowstorm, and one VERY cozy cabin, and things start to get, um ... complicated ... in all the best ways. As different as these two series are, they share something that's always drawn me to writing romance. Whether it's a super soldier fighting to survive or two stubborn people stranded together during an Alaskan snowstorm, the stories always come back to trust, courage, and finding the person who's willing to stand beside you when life gets messy. Watching readers embrace Project Morpheus has been incredibly rewarding, and I can't wait to head back to Yukon Valley with all of you this Christmas. Until then...I'll be over here switching between action scenes and holiday festivals, military missions and matchmaking neighbors, and wondering how I somehow convinced myself that writing in two completely different worlds was a good idea.
