I’ve been spending so much time in Yukon Valley lately, that it feels like I'm there. Cold air. Small town. Hospital drama. People trying VERY hard not to fall in love and failing anyway. As an author and as a person who feels like this is a second home, it's been a great place to be! But…every now and then, something pulls me back to where all of this writing journey really started for me. And for those of you who’ve been around for a while, you probably already know where that is... Paranormal. Cowboys.
Slightly stubborn ones. Occasionally grumpy ones. And in some cases… ones with abilities they didn’t ask for and don’t always want. Those stories still stick with me. Not in a “remember that book I wrote once” kind of way, but in a “these characters still have opinions” kind of way. They’re quieter now, maybe, but they’re not gone. That’s part of why I don’t like the idea of moving on from a series completely. I mean, these books are a part of my soul! I could never leave any of them behind completely! They're never gone. I just and living in a new world that is fresh, cold!, and exciting. Some days I’m deep in Alaska, figuring out how to get two people in the same room without them arguing. Other days I’m thinking about a ranch, a past that won’t stay buried, or a character who has the ability to know when someone’s lying whether they want to or not. And with the Indiana Comic Convention coming up in June, all of those worlds start to overlap a little more. https://indianacomicconvention.com/ Because when I show up to the biggest con I've ever attended (OMG!), I’m not just bringing one series with me. I’m bringing ALL of it. The newer stories, the earlier wild ones, the characters that started it all, and the ones still figuring themselves out. It’s a little chaotic, sure. But in the best way possible! All I know is that I'm going to talk books all weekend long, and it's going to be amazing! So if you’ve only met me through Yukon Valley, just know there’s more to explore. And if you’ve been here since my paranormals entered the chat? You already know I’m probably not done with them yet... ;) Leave a Reply. |
